The Classic Stayin' Safe "Neo Alpine" Training Tours

Stayin’ Safe’s training tours are comprised of two and three day riding routes through a mix of mountain twisties, rolling farmland, small towns, and a limited stretch of multi-lane highway riding. The average day covers approximately 175 - 225 miles.
Tours begin with discussion and parking lot drills to establish fundamental principles. Then, the group heads out to apply those concepts in real-life situations under the guidance of experienced instructors. Each tour includes at least one overnight stay, usually in a quaint and relaxing location. Over a nice dinner (complete with “adult” beverages if so desired), we enjoy the camaraderie of the group and the conversation often includes further discussion of the day’s riding and lessons. Using a library of video clips amassed in our years of teaching, we review common riding situations and a combination of best and worst practices. Discussion of braking techniques is often part of our morning routine before heading out onto the pavement again to explore advanced techniques. An optional component on some tours (weather permitting), allows rider students to be personally videotaped and receive individual evaluation and coaching. Riders tell us that being able to review their own riding is an extremely valuable component of their training.
Our training tours are not fast sport rides and all riding sessions begin slowly. When conditions permit, we do sometimes enjoy an "adult" pace. At times we will ride at the pace of the slowest rider, but never at a faster pace than each student is comfortable with.
