Terms & Conditions

A few things you should know…

Participants:

All participants must possess a current and valid driver’s license with a motorcycle endorsement. Riders must have a minimum of one (1) full season of riding experience and 2,500 miles or more of recent on-street riding time. Riders are encouraged to adopt the practice of “ATGATT” (all the gear, all the time) with motorcycle-specific riding gear. Minimally, participants are required to wear a DOT-approved helmet, eye protection, sturdy full-length pants, jacket and over-the-ankle boots.

Motorcycles:

Participants are required to supply their own motorcycle for use during the tour. No motorcycles will be provided by Stayin’ Safe (although we can often recommend rental companies).

Motorcycles must have current registration, be in good operating order, have tires with at least half tread (Motorcycle-specific tires only. Sorry, no automotive tires will be permitted on Stayin’ Safe tours). Excessively loud exhaust systems do not typically work well on our tours because they can interfere with one or more participant’s ability to hear radio commentary. Straight-through pipes will not be permitted. Most aftermarket exhaust systems that add “character” are fine. If you have any concern about your bike’s exhaust system and suitability to our program, please contact us to discuss.

Trikes, sidecar rigs, Can Am Spyder or other vehicles with more than two wheels require special consideration. Please contact Stayin’ Safe to discuss how the program can work for you.

Payment:
A deposit or full registration fee are paid at the time of registration. Fees are refundable upon cancellation as noted below.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Cancellations made 60 or more days prior to tour date are REFUNDABLE IN FULL LESS A $100 HANDLING FEE.
If the cancellation is being made in order to reschedule to another Stayin’ Safe training session within the same season, the participant’s payment will be applied in full.

Cancellations made 30-59 days prior to tour date are REFUNDABLE IN FULL LESS A $200 HANDLING FEE. If the cancellation is being made in order to reschedule to another Stayin’ Safe training session within the same season, the full fee less $50 will be applied.

Due to the high cost of insurance and other costs associated with each tour, CANCELLATIONS MADE WITHIN 30 DAYS OF TOUR DATE ARE REFUNDED AT 50%. The rider who cancels within 30 days of a scheduled event may reschedule for another Stayin’ Safe training session and apply the full amount less a $100 handling fee.

Knowing that unforeseen circumstances that might prohibit a rider from participation occasionally present themselves, Stayin’ Safe makes every effort to reshedule those riders into a subsequent Stayin’ Safe session at minimal or no cost. A canceling rider who does not wish to reschedule may save himself cancellation fees or loss of payment if he or she can secure an eligible replacement rider to take their place in the original session (any rider changes must be approved by Stayin’ Safe at least 10 days prior to the event date).
